Choosing a Super Fund
For many Maritime Super members that work in the maritime industry, Maritime Super will be nominated in their award or workplace agreement. However, if you are eligible for choice of fund, your employer will ask you what super fund you would like your employer contributions paid. To do this, your employer should provide you with a Standard Choice form within 28 days of commencing work.

Making a choice
The Standard Choice form provides you with guidance on what to consider when choosing a super fund. It will also provide you with details of your employer's default fund.
If you do not advise your employer of your super fund of choice, they will make your employer contributions into their default fund.
If your employer is not part of the maritime industry or Maritime Super is not their default fund, you may still be able to nominate Maritime Super as your fund of choice. However, Maritime Super is not a public offer fund, so not everyone can join.
