Maritime Super offers five market-linked investment options and the Fixed Term Investment option which is not market-linked, so that you can choose an investment strategy that suits your financial needs, objectives and circumstances.

The market-linked investment options cover a range of risk and return profiles, each with varying proportions of growth and defensive assets.

It's up to you to decide how you'd like to invest your super – you can invest it all in one market-linked investment option or you can split your account between two or more investment options.

Long term performance excellence awards

Maritime Super's consistently strong long term performance in the Growth option has led two leading superannuation ratings organisations to award us as 'excellent'.

In 2008, we were awarded the honour of best Long Term Performance Excellence* by SelectingSuper. It's important to recognise that this award covers the previous 20 years – which includes some significant market downturns. This highlights that even in tough times our investment strategy has provided members with strong long-term returns.

For 2009, SuperRatings awarded us a Gold Rating*, which is awarded to super funds offering good value for money for members and placed us in the top 35% of funds in a field of 200. As part of this rating, our performance was described as 'excellent'.

Both awards were given to the Stevedoring Employees Retirement Fund (SERF), which became Maritime Super on 1 March 2009. These awards are still  relevant as the SERF Growth option (which is the default option) became the Maritime Super Growth option. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance.
