Who can join Maritime Super?

All employers operating in the stevedoring, seafaring or maritime-related industries are eligible to apply for participation in the Fund. However, there are certain eligibility conditions that must be satisfied in order to become a Participating Employer.

Generally, only employees of Participating Employers can join Maritime Super, although once they have been accepted as a member, they can remain in the Fund after leaving the industry. This is because Maritime Super is not open to the general public. Members can also nominate family members to join in certain circumstances, although in the Seafarers a Maritime Super divisions this is limited to the spouse and children of existing members.
